This lesson is designed for beginners who are starting to learn Mandarin Chinese in a supportive, engaging, and interactive environment. The lessons focus on developing confidence in listening, speaking, reading, and basic writing skills while introducing learners to Chinese language and culture.
Lessons begin with the teaching of simple everyday vocabulary and useful phrases such as greetings, numbers, colours, family members, food, and daily routines. Pronunciation is taught carefully through repetition, modelling, and listening activities, with particular emphasis on tones and accurate speaking.
A variety of visual resources, games, songs, role play, flashcards, and conversational activities are used to help learners remember new vocabulary and practise speaking naturally. As learners progress, they begin to recognise and read simple Chinese characters and pinyin (the Romanised spelling system). Writing activities help students practise correct stroke order and basic sentence formation.

Lessons are carefully structured to provide regular revision and repetition so that learners can steadily build vocabulary, improve pronunciation, and communicate using simple sentences in real-life situations.
The overall aim of the lesson is to help learners develop a strong foundation in Mandarin Chinese while building confidence, curiosity, and enjoyment in learning a new language.
