Holidays and Festivities in Canada
Description
Students may pick between focusing on learning about some of the holidays that take place in December or some of the festivities that take place in different cities across Canada, or do a bit of both!
The holiday topics include Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa. Students are also welcome to discuss other holidays they celebrate in December during the lesson. The festivities topic includes events taking place in Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto, New Brunswick, and Yellowknife, such as ice sculpting contests, light displays, and outdoor activities.
During the lesson, we will read about the holidays or festivities, learn vocabulary, look at photos, and have a conversation.
This lesson is good for intermediate students but can be adapted for students at other levels.
