?✨ Looking for a Tutor for Two Students | Relaxed Conversation + Academic & Practical English

We are looking for a friendly and engaging English tutor who would be interested in teaching **two students together with one tutor**.

We are hoping to take lessons **two or three times a month**,
and we would love to find a tutor with whom we can build a comfortable, long-term learning relationship. ?

? About Us

There will be two learners in each lesson.

**Momo0324:**

* TOEIC 725 (March 2025)
* My ambitious short-term goal is to reach approximately **TOEIC 875-level English by the end of this year**.
* Professionally, I work in the inbound tourism field, so I would like to become comfortable communicating, discussing business, and negotiating with international clients entirely in English.
* In the future, I would also love to develop my English to a level where I could work as an **English-speaking tour guide/interpreter**.

One of my main weaknesses is **listening comprehension**.
I sometimes need a little extra time to process spoken information, even in my first language. lol
Because of this, I would especially like to practice:

? listening carefully to someone speaking
? summarizing what I have heard
? responding appropriately and naturally
❓ asking good follow-up questions

Rather than simply doing listening exercises, I would love to improve this ability through real conversations.

**My learning partner:**

* Approximately TOEIC 750+ level
* An associate professor at a university in Japan
* Specializes in **the history of Japan-Russia diplomatic relations and Japanese history**
* His goal is to become confident enough in English to **present his academic research at international conferences**,
including answering questions and discussing his research with other scholars.

☕ What Kind of Lesson Are We Looking For?

Ideally, we would like a lesson of around **45–50 minutes**, something like this:

**? First 20 minutes — Relaxed Free Conversation**

We would like to talk naturally about everyday life, culture, travel, current interests, history, work, or any interesting topic.

We don't want this part to feel like a strict classroom exercise — we would like to relax, laugh, exchange ideas, and become more comfortable expressing ourselves spontaneously in English.

**? Next 20–25 minutes — More Focused Practice**

This could include, for example:

* practicing my partner's academic presentations
* Q&A practice after a conference presentation
* discussing Japanese history or diplomatic history in English
* listening and summarizing exercises
* articles, videos, or other learning materials
* vocabulary and expressions for academic or professional situations
* discussion-based exercises that make us think and explain our opinions

We are very open to the tutor's ideas! ✨
We would actually be happy if you suggested interesting materials or activities that you think would suit our levels and goals.

**? Final 5 minutes / After the Lesson — Feedback**

We are looking for a tutor who can give us some constructive feedback at the end of the lesson or afterwards.

For example:

* expressions that sounded unnatural
* grammar or pronunciation points worth improving
* better vocabulary or alternative expressions
* listening / communication habits we should work on
* areas where you noticed improvement

We do not need every small mistake to be corrected during the conversation. We would rather keep the conversation flowing and receive useful feedback afterwards. ?

? Tutor Preferences

**Lesson length:** 30–55 minutes
**Budget:** approximately 1,000–6,000 Cafetalk Points per lesson
**Frequency:** about 2–3 lessons per month

A **native English speaker would be preferred**, although personality, teaching ability, and compatibility are more important to us than nationality.

It would be an extra bonus if you are interested in:

? World history
? International relations / diplomacy
? Academic English
? Business communication
?️ Thought-provoking conversations

You certainly do not need to be a historian or academic specialist! We would simply love a tutor who is curious, enjoys exchanging ideas, and is comfortable discussing a wide range of topics.

We are serious about improving our English, but we also believe that learning works best when we genuinely enjoy talking with our tutor.

So we are hoping to find someone who can create a lesson that is:

Since the two of us have somewhat different goals — **academic English for my partner and practical/business English plus listening development for me** — we think this could make the lessons quite interesting for the tutor as well. ?

シンガポールに居住して２年経った小学5年生です。インターナショナルスクールに通っており、日常会話程度はできますが、それ以上の英語にはまだ自信がありません。当初はインターナショナルスクールの環境にいることで英語に慣れ、自然と英語力が身につくと考えていましたが、母国語である日本語での思考が根付いていることもあるせいか、なかなか英語力がついていない現状です。そこで、日本語ベースで英語の文法を学ぶことで知識と日常の英語が結びついてくれることを期待しています。現状の実力に合わせて、基本的な英語文法や勉強方法を指導してくれるレッスンを希望します。

最終的には日常会話を問題なくできるくらいのスペイン語力を身につけられたらと思っています。

ある程度長さのある文章を読む際に抑揚をつけられるようにしたいのと、
あと、絵本にもあまり詳しくないので、紹介をしていただけると尚嬉しいです。
よろしくお願いします。

I want to learn English .

I will be moderating an international conference in late October, and would like to learn and practice a range of useful English phrases for moderating the event.

Ideally, I would like to practice through role-plays based on realistic conference situations. For example, I would like to practice introducing speakers, giving instructions to the audience, guiding participants to different locations, announcing the start and end of sessions, handling transitions between speakers, and making other necessary announcements.

I would like to build up a practical set of phrases that I can actually use on the day, rather than just studying them in isolation.

I would especially appreciate lessons with someone who has experience as a moderator, MC, conference host, or in a similar role.

I would also like to get back into speaking English more comfortably, so I would love to include some free conversation practice as well.
