✓FALL 2020: My University Semester Begins!! :D [Lesson Pack Extensions, Reduced Availability]

2020年8月7日

Hello, everyone!

This year has been so crazy, hasn't it? As you may know, I recently moved to the Washington, D.C. area in order to begin attending the university of my dreams to pursue my second master's degree and eventually my Ph.D., both of which will be in Linguistics (second language acquisition, bilingual and multilingual education, and sociolinguistics)! :)

Due to COVID-19, my peers and I have been waiting for months to learn about our upcoming semester. This past week, we finally received news!! I am both incredibly disappointed and relieved to learn that we will start (and possibly maintain) our graduate classes entirely online.

Now that I have my official university schedule, I can make many changes to my Cafetalk schedule. I want to share a huge thank you to everyone for your flexibility, patience, and understanding!! :)

VACATION: Currently, I have blocked the following weeks, during which I will be super busy adjusting to my university program (EST): August 21st through September 6th. I have also currently blocked the week of September 7th through September 13th.

RETURNING: I may return the week of either September 7th or September 14th. It will be a busy time and so much is unknown!! :) I will know more about my schedule availability in the future.

LESSON PACKS: At this moment, many of you have lesson packs! If you would like an extension, please message me on Cafetalk or Skype and I will be happy to give you the longest extension possible. :)

UNIVERSITY: I am so excited to continue this exciting journey in my career! I am going to continue to grow as an English teacher, a language-learner, and a rising expert in the field of linguistics. I cannot wait to share this new knowledge with you!!!!!!!!!

Best,
Kris :)

P.S.
BUSY SCHEDULE: As you may know, Cafetalk is my favorite little side-job. ♡ My full-time job is a Limited-Term Lecturer at a private university in the College of Education master's degree program for Curriculum & Instruction. I also own and operate my own private company for ESL/ELL instruction, which has been growing for the past two years. I also occasionally provide tutoring for my previous students in Boston, MA who are experiencing remote learning due to COVID-19. I also create weekly content for the Official Hapa Eikaiwa Community Members: Hapa Buddies. In the coming fall semester, I will be a full-time graduate student, a part-time Research Assistant, and will most likely have online conferences to attend.

My hope is to be able to continue on with Cafetalk as much as possible, whenever my time allows, because this platform is my favorite place to see all of you, to chat with you, to relax and enjoy our free conversations, and to help each of you build the English language skills you want to achieve. More than that, I am so honored to be a part of your journey as you build confidence and communication ability with each and every lesson!! :) I'm so proud to be a part of this Cafetalk community.

♡ Let's keep learning and practicing with whatever time we have available!! xD ♡
