Hello, and nice to meet you,
My name is James. I am from Canada, Nova Scotia. And I am hoping to help you with your English!
Goal:
My goal is to not only help you with your English in the traditional sense (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation), but to also teach you more authentic speaking and better communication habits. Imagine a language teacher and communication coach rolled into one.
How I teach: Conversational Method
I am happy to adjust to your goals for learning English.
However, I try to make lessons feel like we are not learning, but are two friends having a regular conversation. As we talk, when I hear mistakes that we can work on, we temporarily pause our conversation, see the mistake, repeat the correction a few times, then continue our conversation again from the mistake.
About Me:
I have been living in Japan since August 2022. I started as an ALT in rural Tochigi and Ibaraki before switching jobs and moving to the big city. In my freetime, I enjoy playing music, video games, going to the gym, and cooking to name a few things. I like to try new things when I can. On top of that, I like learning new things too.
