Hello! I’m Lauren, an online English teacher from Cape Town, South Africa. I’m friendly, patient, creative, and love working with children and teenagers. I specialise in helping young learners aged 4 to 18 improve their English step by step through engaging lessons that are always fun, supportive, and tailored to their needs.
I hold a 120-hour TEFL certificate and began teaching online in 2023. Since then, I’ve taught students from all over the world, from absolute beginners to advanced teens preparing for exams like IELTS or school assessments.
My teaching style is warm and interactive. I take time to understand each student’s personality, level, and goals, so I can design lessons that feel personal, motivating, and age-appropriate. I believe that when students feel safe and supported, they can genuinely enjoy learning and grow in confidence.
Here’s what my lessons are like:

For young children (4–9): We sing, play games, tell stories, and move around, all while learning English naturally through play and practice.

For older children (10–13 years old): We focus on grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, and speaking through engaging, and meaningful topics that align with their interests.

For teenagers (14–18): We build fluency, fix grammar issues, prepare for tests, practice speaking, and boost confidence through structured, interactive lessons.
I use digital tools, visual aids, real-life topics, roleplays, and conversation games to keep students engaged. Whether it’s drawing, singing, talking about hobbies, or practising how to order at a restaurant, every lesson is active, practical, and supportive.
Outside of teaching, I love reading, journaling, learning new skills, and spending time with my family. I’m naturally cheerful and caring, and I bring that same energy to every lesson.
