Andy MC7 Tutor Profile

Hello I'm Andy, a native English speaker from London UK. I have been teaching in classrooms across Asia for about 15 years and I love my job.My field of interest is English conversation and the speaking and listening skills that are a part of it.
I speak with a classic English accent, and can regulate the speed of my speach to suit the level of my students.

My BA is in Conceptual Design from the University of London, however I started working as a language teacher soon after graduation. Later on I did a TEFL certificate at the London Teacher Training College.
Some of my jobs provided lesson plans and a structured teaching strategy. Others allowed me to produce my own lesson plans and develop my own teaching style.

Many students have an understanding of English which derives from formal schooling or self study. What they might have missed is the opportunity to practice speaking English in a natural context.

My one on one Conversation classes are as follows.

1  The student views the material 
2  I instigate a question and answer based discussion, (at this stage the student is encouraged to speak freely)
3  I review the students answers and correct major mistakes, (I input vocabulary, colloquial grammar, pronunciation, intonation, sentence structure etc.)
4  Some questions are repeated  (this allows the student to develope their answers according to the input)

Before request is confirmed (fixed)

  • Cancellation possible at any time without charge.

After request is confirmed (fixed)

  • More than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ Cancellation is possible at any time.
  • Less than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
  • No-Show→ The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
