My name is João. You can call me John or ジョアン. I'm from Brazil.
I've been living in Japan since 2015. I used to be a private tutor since I was in high school, throughout college and grad school, teaching English, Portuguese and science (biology/chemistry). Now I'm a full-time English teacher and freelance online English/Portuguese/Japanese teacher.
A lot of people think learning from a native is the best way, but I find it much more challenging to teach my mother tongue than to teach English or Japanese. I can relate to the students' struggles beacuse I've been at their stage trying to figure out the language rules.
I love learning languages and I'm a etymology aficionado.
