Hello! My name is Cameron. I'm from the United States, but I've lived in Japan and Colombia for the past five or so years. I am passionate about language, learning, and sharing knowledge with people around the world from different cultures.
I also enjoy doing lots of other things, such as playing music, watching films, studying about various subjects (especially things to do with history, politics and psychology), and also love travelling to new places of course.
My experience:
I have taught English for around 6 years now, in a variety of environments. I first taught here in the United States to refugees and immigrants, helping them to get their license or find a job. I also spent almost three years teaching English to business adults, casual English learners, and youth in Tokyo and Yokohama, Japan. I also taught the last two years in Medellin, Colombia to adults of all levels while learning Spanish there. I was also able to teach to youth in a small town in the Amazon, which was an incredible experience for me.
About my classes:
My classes are always laid back and engaging. I want you to speak as much as possible, and become more comfortable and confident using the language. That's why we will use fun and natural conversation topics and contexts, so that you'll be speaking and enjoying English conversations as soon as possible.
In addition, I have many interests, such as learning languages (I've studied Japanese for many years and spoke it every day for three years in Tokyo, and have been learning Spanish the past 3 years), film, discussing culture, cuisine, books, music and more. So feel free talking to me about any topic that you are interested in.
For those who are a little shy or worried about not being able to communicate perfectly in English, don't worry! If you need to speak a little Japanese there is no problem. I can speak it, and passed the JLPT N2, so I can communicate in it if necessary.

Because of my experience learning languages on my own, I know how hard it can be to speak and learn a foreign language. I have tried many strategies and ways to learn, and overtime I have created an effective and natural way to converse with students and help them get the most out of my lessons. I'm here to help through fun, interactive and natural classes. I hope to help you as much as possible in your journey. See you soon!
