Hi there,
Thanks for checking out my profile. My name is Latisha and I'm a native English speaker from the US but I'm currently residing in the country of Jordan. I'm TEFL certified and have been teaching English online for 4+ years. I've taught students from ages 4-80yrs old. From countries such as Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Czech Republic, Oman, Turkey, and more.
Contrary to popular belief, I believe that learning should be fun! Life & studies have shown that we (people) intiatially learn language by listening and mimicking the people around us (parents, family members, etc). Think about when you were a child! How did you learn to speak even before attending school? Furthermore, studies have shown that when you enjoy learning you're more likely to retain what you've learned.
So with that being said, my style of teaching and my lessons are based on this concept. I want students to feel comfortable in my classes. I like to have an environment that is conducive for learning. I believe that this requires comfort, kindness, patience, fun, and engagement on both the students behalf and teachers'. So if you just need a break from all the grammar rules, using the correct tenses, etc, then my lessons may be a good fit for you! Go ahead and make a request today.
