Hi! I'm Mrs. Davenport, MAEd! You can call me Mrs. D. Welcome to my profile at CafeTalk!
I am a professional teacher, author and artist from the USA, as well as a Mom and Grandmom with a big family that's lots of fun!
I lived in Japan twice, once as a Mombusho student at Tsukuba University. Then, after graduating from Princeton University, I became an employee of Honda in Minami-Aoyama in Tokyo. This was many years ago, but I loved it. I hope to return with my family for a short visit next year. Here is a collage of me "Way Back When"! (Showa era Me!)
Now I am a teacher, writer, storyteller, artist, and Mom back home in the USA.
When you become my student at CafeTalk, you will begin a new stage of your journey into becoming fluent in American English!
I welcome you to my world of Family Relationships, Self-Development, Cultural Learning, and to learning World English taught by an Ivy League graduate with a Masters degree in Education.
I am also the daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter of Teachers in America. My standards are high, but so is my patience!WELCOME!
(This is my granddaughter on her 1st birthday! We are wearing matching dresses!)
(Below is my famous Mrs. Davenport's Sweet Potato Pie, a traditional African-American dessert beloved in the American South for Thanksgiving and Christmas especially! Here on CafeTalk is one of the few places you will learn to make it correctly! And deliciously!)
