Hey there! I'm Carl Williams, but you can call me Will. I've got a theory that "Will" sounds more like a buddy you'd hang out with at a beach in Hawaii, which, funnily enough, is where I'm from - Mililani, to be exact.
I've been hanging out in Japan for an incredible 20+ years. It's like I came for the sushi and stayed for everything else. Japan's been fantastic to me, from its mind-blowing culture to its incredible people.
So, teaching? That's my way of giving a high-five back to this amazing country. It's my ticket to meeting a whole bunch of fantastic folks here. Think of it as my 'thank you' note, but instead of writing it, I get to live it daily by sharing and learning with some of the most incredible people on the planet.

Teaching Experience:
  • More than 15-years of teaching English classes to Japanese primary, middle and high school students speaking, listening, reading and writing lessons in English.
  • Taught conversational English at Language Schools, from complete beginners to advanced level students.
  • Experienced administering Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC).
  • Prepared and taught English lessons for the Japan College of Foreign Language, Hosei University and Teikyu University.
  • More than 8 years of teaching Business English to Japanese Business Professionals.
Lesson Plans:
  • Creative instructional materials to stimulate student's learning and to reflects their interests.
One-on-One Instruction:
  • Experienced providing students with weekly assessments to measure their progress and set future goals.
  • Assessed strengths, weaknesses and personal learning styles of each student.
I love having entertaining and motivating lessons. My teaching philosophy is “Mistakes are great.” Make all the mistakes you need to make to improve your English abilities.

My hobbies are photography, reading and traveling.
