Lily_sensei Tutor Profile

This tutor is currently on leave.

Hello everyone!

I am a Japanese and Chinese teacher who strives to keep lessons easy, but detailed.

I will help you change your attitude from “I guess I'll try….” to  “I know I can!!”

There are 3 important things when it comes to language learning.

The first is being consistent.

Slow and steady wins the race. Staying consistent is even harder than working hard or trying something new. But when something is fun, you want to keep going, right? That’s why it's so important to find a study method that is fun and easy for you stick with. I recommend linking your studies to your likes and interests.

The second is finding someone who will teach you how to speak properly.

Learning the basics (pronunciation, grammar) is a given, but it's also very important to find someone who will correct what you say into correct and proper language. Do the people around you correct your errors? When learning a language, it's very important to find people who will teach you how to use the language correctly. If you have people point out where you made mistakes and how to revise them, your language skills will improve without a doubt.

The third is getting to know the culture behind the language

When studying a foreign language, you can also learn about that country's culture and history at the same time. The more you study that language, the more you will learn about the country, and the more you'll come to understand it. Knowing the culture will help you improve and broaden your skills in the language itself. There are all sorts of discoveries to be made.

There's so much to learn from studying a foreign language!

I believe that I have language learning to thank for most of what I know and many of the chances I've been given.

Although we live in an age where everyone has instant access to information on the internet, meeting new people and learning new things as you talk to them is not only a great way to gain knowledge and improve your communication skills, but it also helps you become more open to others.

I strongly believe that meeting so many people and learning so many things (about culture, language) has helped me become more rounded out as a person.

I am sincerely looking forward to meeting you! Mahalo!
