Hello everyone! Welcome to Cafetalk.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile!

 Please allow me to introduce myself

My name is Cornelia and I am a freelance English teacher from Romania.

I love long nature walks, travelling, cooking Asian food and reading!

I also like to become friends with people from around the world!

I have travelled and lived in many countries around the world including Canada, UK, Malta, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam.

Teaching experience

I am a Cambridge CELTA certified teacher as well as a qualified English language teacher and language lover.

I have two English Language teaching qualifications: one from Cambridge-CELTA (2018), which entitles me to teach English to adults and a TEFL Certificate which qualifies me to teach English as a foreign language to speakers of other languages.

I hold 2 Bachelor degrees: a Bachelor of Education, Major -English Language and a B.A.(Hons) Social Work degree from the University of Malta. 

I am a patient and compassionate teacher who understands and listens to student’s goals, needs and unique interests. I take my job very seriously and treat my students with respect.

I have taught English for over 19 years and I have worked with students from more than 30 countries worldwide. In this time, I have worked with students of all ages and levels from beginner to advanced.

I have special experience and expertise in the following subjects: General English, English for Specific Purposes, Business English, English for Academic Purposes or exam preparation- FCE, CAE, IELTS or TOEFL.

At the moment I am creating my own English pronunciation course so I am happy to help you overcome any pronunciation difficulties that you might have.

I worked with many Japanese students (children, teenagers and adults) for more than 4 years and during that time I had many group and one-to-one lessons with them. I also helped them manage their exam worries that they had at that time.

I really enjoyed working with them and offering my professional expertise in their endeavor to improve their English level skills.

 My lessons on Cafetalk

Our lessons on Cafetalk will be conversational with a focus on vocabulary and my aim is to help you improve both your confidence level and fluency when you speak English.

If you are a teenager or an adult who needs help with your grammar, vocabulary or pronunciation then I would love to help you.

Please let me know what your goals are and I will create a lesson to meet your needs. At the same time I welcome your ideas for new lessons too!

For example, you might be interested to take English lessons for work-related reasons or maybe you want to pass an English proficiency test like IELTS or TOEFL. Or maybe you just want to brush up on your English conversational skills.

Before our lesson, I will send you a pdf with some material and if you have time, please read it in advance. Also, if you are a beginner, my advice is to check the vocabulary you don’t know so the lesson will go smoothly. During the lesson, please don’t hesitate to ask me questions and don’t be afraid to talk! After the lesson, you will receive some additional materials or exercises. Please send me the answers on Cafetalk and I will correct them.

 How do I sound?

I speak with a British accent and am flexible to adjust my rate of speech to your preference.
