You can call me Yvethe. I'm a qualified and experienced English teacher from the Philippines. I finished a Bachelor’s degree in Geography at the University of the Philippines but I realized that teaching English is my true passion.

I enjoy watching Netflix or short videos, and gardening in my free time. I prefer watching genres like action, science fiction, thrillers, suspense, non-fiction, comedy, stand-up comedy, sitcoms, cooking shows, makeover shows, etc.
Teaching Experience:
I have experience teaching students of all levels and age groups online for about six years. I can teach various lessons including but not limited to grammar, pronunciation, basic conversation, listening, reading comprehension, and the like. My first experience was teaching Chinese students. I enjoyed talking to my students about China. The beauty of the country and the richness of its culture is astounding. Hoping I could experience it at first hand.
I also watch short videos like reels on Facebook and sometimes on Instagram. I love watching contents about relationships, parenting, event styling, interior design, tiny houses, minimalism, and comedy. I have recently caught a few bugs like the tiny house movement, reducing carbon footprint, Scandinavian/Nordic or Japanese minimalistic interior design, and financial literacy/independence bug. I wish we could talk about your interests too.
Teaching Experience:
After that, I joined another online English school in teaching diverse Japanese students. I learned a lot of things about Japan and its people through my students. I would choose being in the company of the most polite society in the world any day of the week.
I am currently teaching Mongolian students. I knew very little about Mongolia before I started teaching Mongolians. The only Mongolians I know are the great Genghis Khan and his Kublai Khan. Oh boy, I didn't realize I would enjoy teaching Mongolians as I did teaching Japanese people. They are generally nice, polite and open to corrections.
I'm learning more and more about Mongolia and their culture every day but I still miss the company of Japanese, Chinese, and a few Koreans. My students are open in sharing and I enjoy discussing their thoughts and opinions. They are so knowledgeable, curious and eager to learn.

I am friendly, patient, flexible and professional. I also do my best to give helpful feedback and tips to help you improve your English. It doesn't feel like I am doing my job when I'm not able to correct my students and teach them ways to improve themselves. But I can also drop the active correction if you don't need it.
Some of my students wonder how I got to be this fluent. I can say for sure that I was not able to speak as fluently as I do now when I started working in 2009, about 13 years ago. I went through the same challenge you are going through right now in learning English, probably somewhat different but still a challenge. I understand the growing need to be fluent in English. Speaking English is vital in all the jobs I've had.
It took me 7 years of speaking English at work, several trainings, and indulging myself regularly of movie marathons and binge watching before I was qualified to teach English. I did not study or live abroad but I did it. Your only advantage is that I didn't have the help of various English tutors at my disposal like you do.
I'm sure you can improve your English like I did. Let me help you get there. I look forward to meeting you and helping you unlock your goals in your journey towards English fluency and articulacy.
