Hello,

 My name is Scarpa Giovanni and I am Italian. I have been living in Japan for about seven years with my wife who is Japanese.
 
 I decided to join Cafetalk to share my knowledge about the beautiful things in Italy.

 I use the verb 「to share」 and not 「to teach」 because in my opinion

.   「to share」reflects the different level of knowledge regarding one topic

.  「to teach」reflects a bit of presumption, a lot of vanity and a pinch of arrogance.

  I can very sincerely declare that there are things I don't know about Italy despite having studied quite a bit. Nevertheless sharing my knowledge about Italian I can support a person to achieve the wished level of knowledge.
 
  I must admit, despite myself, that the beautiful things of Italy, in the majority of cases, concern a not so recent past or the creative work of Italian artisans.
 
  It happened to me that by better understanding the message inherent in the works of Italian artists, poets and artisans my heart opened, I was able to look to the future with renewed spirit and optimism, cultivate feelings of love and altruism and this improved my life.
 
  As always, to achieve something, you need to overcome a small obstacle constituted by learning the basics of the Italian language. I also had to overcome these difficulties and I was supported.
 
  I can honestly say that the commitment was amply rewarded.
 
  Now I would like to talk to you about an other couple of verbs which are

.  「to study」 and

.  「to dialogue」.

 My intention is to support you in learning by talking rather than by studying. Studying is an activity where the individual prevails while in a conversation the group prevails which is made up of a minimum of a couple.
 
  If a virtuous cycle is triggered, in a group you can learn faster, better and in many cases having fun. Having fun makes it less tiring.
 
  I will do my best to help you reach your learning goals. I try to list some of them below

.  to begin to understand the works of poets, artists, saints and craftsmen,

.  to undertake a trip to Italy,

.  to try your hand at preparing an Italian cuisine recipe,

.  why not, if your intention is to live in Italy.
 
  I thank you in advance for the time and patience you have dedicated to reading my presentation.
