Merci beaucoup, Hippolyte sensei ;)
I was very happy to take this Abacus lesson because it was available in English. This is rare to find. The tutor was very helpful and encouraging. Unfortunately I can't obtain a Soroban abacus where I live. But I do recommend this lesson to any English-speaking student.
Mika-sensei's 25-minute beginner Japanese lesson is just the right length to avoid feeling overwhelmed but also to make solid progress. I've been taking this lesson weekly for the past few months and have noticed a huge improvement in my Japanese speaking skill and confidence. The lesson pack offers excellent value for those who are serious learners.
I'm always impressed by Mika-sensei's warmth and her gentle, friendly manner, which makes me feel comfortable and at ease. She patiently waits for me to answer whenever I am stuck, which I appreciate so much!
On top of all this, she uses excellent materials that allow me to practice new grammar points thoroughly, and to work at a steady pace. She also has a great ear, always bringing my attention to mistakes not only in my grammar but also my pronunciation - which is hugely important for an English learner of Japanese like me.
Thank you Mika-sensei, I appreciate you so much and I look forward to many more lessons together!
Most of my lessons provide guidance on correct pronunciation and reading aloud. You might hear a lot of comments like: "There are a lot of books on the market about how to correct your pronunciation, but even if I practice with those, there's nobody to check, so I don't know if I'm doing it right" "If learn from a native English speaker, the explanations are in English, so it's hard for me to ask
