Hello, my name is Jamie! I'm from the UK, and have been living in Tokyo, Japan for 6 years.
 Some things to know about me:
  • I have 7 years teaching experience at a large English teaching company here in Japan. I can teach both British English AND American English.
  • I have taught all ages from babies to retired seniors (Yes, even babies can take English lessons!).
  • My hobbies include writing, photography, singing, playing the piano, and playing video games. I enjoy doing creative things like arts and crafts.
  • I love to travel. My dream is to travel all over the world, and live in many countries.
  • I'm studying Japanese, so I know what it feels like to be a student. It can be scary talking in another language. I want to help you feel relaxed and confident to speak English with me, and not to worry about making mistakes. Mistakes are how we learn, and improve, and English lessons are the best way to do it! 

Why are you studying English?
 
I want to help you achieve your goals! Let's talk about your goals and how we can achieve them. We can do structured lessons and I can provide full courses if you want to level up. If you prefer to practice English conversation and improve your fluency, we can just chat!

My Teaching Style:
  • I'm very patient and friendly. I genuinely enjoy teaching, so there is no need to be shy or nervous.
  • Lessons are fully in English since this will help your fluency and listening. Of course, if you don't understand something, I can try to explain in Japanese, but as much as possible, I try not to use Japanese.
  • I make corrections. You want to improve your English, and I want to help you do that, so I always try to make corrections during our lessons.
  • I can assign homework. Depending on the type of lesson, I can assign you homework to work on between lessons.
