My name is Ilana. I have been teaching English for about 15 years, and I have a TEFL certificate. I love learning languages, so I know what it feels like to be a student. :)
When I was in university I spent 2 years living in Osaka as an exchange student. I actually turned 20 years old when I was there, so I participated in the seijinshiki ceremony! Here I am in a kimono.
I am originally from Ohio in the United States. I studied Japanese and Russian in university, and I also speak Hebrew fluently. I have taken short elementary courses in Korean and Mandarin Chinese. I love linguistics, traveling, and exploring international cultures and cuisine.
I have taught English in a few different countries. I have taught many different ages and levels, and I really love teaching. I have experience with private lessons, group lessons, both in the classroom and online. I like teaching adults, teenagers, and children-- all are welcome! I believe that having fun while learning and trying your best, even if you might make a mistake, is the best way to make progress in language learning.
When I am not teaching, I am busy with my 3 young children. Here they are relaxing:
Also, my favorite dog breed is the Beagle. If you have a favorite dog breed, please tell me what it is!
Thank you for this opportunity.
Good luck with your learning,
