Hi, I'm Tomoko. I'm an experienced Japanese teacher and also a Japanese calligraphy artist. I have been living in Australia for about 5 years. I love the beaches and natural landscapes here!
I have been teaching Japanese for the past 3 years, and have helped my students at all levels - basic to advanced, including Keigo. My classes are usually conversation-based and customised to my students' language needs, whether it be grammar, idioms, vocabulary, or pronunciation. I want my class to be relaxed, casual and hopefully a bit of fun!
If you have something specific you need to prepare for, such as an upcoming interview or presentation, I can definitely help you with that! I am also happy to answer any questions you have about material you are learning in other Japanese classes or by yourself, and help with document editing/proofreading.
I used to work at schools teaching English in Japan, and teaching Japanese in Australia. I run Japanese calligraphy workshops in Australia, too. My passion is to share Japanese culture through language, Japanese calligraphy and food! I also love food and cooking. One of my hobbies is to make miso from scratch - I've run miso making workshops in Australia for the last two years!
I'm also currently studying an Advanced English course online, and I have tutors both online and in person. From my experience as a student, I hope I understand how my students can be comfortable and enthusaiastic when learning with me.
I love travelling, and have visited over 20 different countries, which has made me comfortable in relating to all kinds of people. I enjoy getting to know my students' personalities and cultures, and inspiring them to reach for their dreams!
I would love to hear about your language goals, so feel free to send me a message when you book. I would also love to hear about your passions, interests and hobbies. I hope to meet you soon, so we can have fun with Japanese together!
