I have published, researched and am now busy with writing my Ph.D. in philosophy of mind. One may say that philosophy makes language what it is, sometimes it is complicated, but it really doesn’t need to be. This gives me a unique position to teach you English; and, as I am German, also German ;-)
ABOUT MYSELF
Personally, once I get going, I am devoted and really committed to seeing success in what I can do for you! You will see that I achieve your lesson goals through a caring and friendly manner.
Once a farmer that has gone tech-entrepreneur I have two decades of experience in business and entrepreneurship, founding and running two tech start-ups and an organic wine farm. I hold a bachelor’s in business administration and management from one of Germany’s top three business schools, a diploma in psychology, and an MPhil in Sustainable Development Agriculture from Stellenbosch University in South Africa, where I am an agricultural researcher and currently do my Ph.D.
Whether your language learning goals are aimed at everyday use, or for business use, you will find my unique experience very useful as we will discuss many interesting topics to improve your speech and skill.
TEACHING STYLE
I will take you through a personalized tutoring program, that matches your skill. Additionally, we can also tailor the lessons to include one, or a diverse set of topics that may be of interest to you. They may range from technology to business, farming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, to the existence of the universe, and even dark energy and consciousness.
Not only will I guide you through a learning plan so that you can track progress, but most importantly you can choose throughout our program which topics (marketing, branding, philosophy, and more, see below subjects) you want to talk about to increase the diversity of your vocabulary and ability to do small talk, be effective in business English, or otherwise become just good at general conversation.
However, I will also help you with public speaking, presentations, job interviews, and how best to present yourself, teaching you correct pronunciation, grammar, and give you some useful idioms. I really care that you get the most out of our lessons together, therefore in the first session, we will build the course around your personal needs and capabilities.
