Maîtresse Sachi Tutor Profile

Hello! Nice to meet you.
I'm Maîtresse Sachi. I'd be happy if you just called me Sachi.
I began teaching Japanese on Cafetalk in June of 2020. I mainly teach children's Japanese lessons, but if you have any special requests, please feel free to contact me, no matter your age!

【About me】

I've been living in New Zealand since 2016. Prior to 2016, I lived in France and the French part of Canada. My overseas life began when I started studying in order to enter a French university. After I finished my life as a student in France, I moved on to graduate school in Canada and received a degree in urban planning. During my time living in France and Canada, I accumulated experience as a volunteer Japanese teacher. As a result of coming into contact with many students of Japanese, I became able to better understand particular places' traits of character, the differences between Japanese, French and English and experienced the important feeling that "Japanese is interesting".

I got married and gave birth overseas and I was very interested in how children could acquire Japanese in a multilingual environment, which prompted me to take and complete a 420 hour Japanese teaching course so I could face this issue with a certain level of expertise. Also, since there was not much opportunity to take supplementary Japanese lessons or go to the Japanese center and all other options had run out, I took it upon myself to act as the Japanese teacher for everyone.

I believe that anyone, irrespective of age, can learn anything if it's fun. How about using Japanese and having a fun time studying with me?

The general foundation of my lessons are built upon the idea of fun♪. Please try my lessons in whch you can feel, "I didn't know studying is such a fun thing!"

I do my best to create conditions in my lessons where the student can comfortably say, "I don't understand". I love to hear "I don't understand" and many questions from students in my lessons! If you don't understand, I'm here! By all means, ask many questions♫

In general, in my lessons I use a textbook appropriate to the level of the student. Based on the textbooks you have used, please tell me beforehand the kind of lesson you hope to have.
For example:
①I want to have kanji writing in the lessons.
②I can speak but want to be able to read. I only want to read kanji.
③I want to increase my vocabulary and then become able to use it.

etc.

Depending on the lesson contents, it will sometimes be necessary to print out documents I've sent you or prepare some materials needed for the lesson. In such cases, I kindly ask for your cooperation.
