Thank you for kindly visiting my profile. I am Paul, your new English teacher. I believe in learning English through structured lessons, which are also fun and entertaining. In the first lesson after we get to know each other, we will together check your level of vocabulary from this website http://www.duboislc.org/ED-Watch/Words/1-100.html We will also check your grammar level.
You are likely to be in three categories:
You are a beginner:
If you are a beginner, the problems you often face are shyness, difficult English pronunciation and minimum known words (limited vocabulary). The solution for you would be to have a teacher who is easy to talk to, who knows basic Japanese but tries to make conversation in very simple English. We will use flashcards and games to practise correct pronunciation. For children, I usually add songs and my little daughter Petra sometimes joins the lessons for more funJ
You are a false beginner:
You are a false beginner if you have studied for quite some years but you are afraid to talk or you get lost if you do not understand a couple of words in a sentence. The solution is to continuously learn new words through questions and answers. I prepared questions and answers based on the vocabulary from this website. http://www.duboislc.org/ED-Watch/Words/1-100.html
For example I would ask you: “Do you want to learn another English word?,“ you would not say only “Yes” or “No”, but you will say the complete sentence “Yes, I want to learn another English word.” It is however harder to make a question so we will switch roles and you will ask questions from my prepared material and I will answer. This will make you more confident when speaking English.
You are intermediate or higher
As an intermediate student of English, you can already have a simple conversation but you have problems with grammar or you still lack the fluency. The solution to this problem is to have more conversation while I also write down the mistakes and areas for improvement. You can also take my Easy speeches lessons to practise writing and speaking. Likely you might need some help with your Interview preparation, with CV or Resume and I am here to help.
