AKINO Tutor Profile

This tutor is currently on leave.

Please feel free to contact me for consultation.
I also accept consultations from parents.

[Self Introduction]

Nice to meet you, I am AKINO.

I can teach junior high school and high school level English, junior high school level Japanese, junior high school level social studies, high school level modern literature, civics, and world history.

I look forward to working with you.

While studying Western philosophy as a doctoral student at a national university in Tokyo, I have been teaching  elementary school, junior high school, and high school students as a part-time tutor and private tutor.

I have been working as an instructor since I was an undergraduate student, so I have been teaching for almost 10 years.

I have a teaching certificate in junior high school social studies, high school civics, and high school geography.

My favorite thing to do these days is to watch Western movies.

[Teaching Experience]

I have been teaching mainly humanities subjects (English, Japanese, and social studies) as a cram school tutor and private tutor.

I have been tutoring individually for a long time, but I also have experience in group tutoring for elementary, junior high, and high school students.

In addition to teaching junior high and high school students, I have experience teaching junior high school entrance exam preparation (Japanese and social studies), introductory English (junior high school preparation) to upper elementary school students, teaching students who cannot attend school, and teaching high school equivalency exam preparations.

Although my teaching license is mainly in social studies, I also have sufficient experience in teaching English (especially English grammar) and Japanese.

[Lesson Style]

Generally, lessons are conducted using Skype video callss. I can also offer lessons without video. Please feel free to let me know your preferences.

Although my lessons are online, I try to make the most of the fact that the lessons are individualized, so that the learning process is not one-way, but interactive, with each student's questions and undersatndings ascertained as much as possible.

Therefor, please feel free to ask me if there is something you don’t understand or something you have learnt in the past but forgot.

I mainly use the following two styles of teaching.

1. Use materials that students already own.

If you send me photos or scanned data of your school assignments, cram school homework, or anything you didn’t understand in your self-study, I can help you.

2. Tutor-led explanations and exercises on specific subjects

In this case, I will prepares the teaching materials.

For example, in an English grammar class, you can request the unit you want to study (infinitives, relational verbs, etc.), and I will prepare PowerPoint materials and exercises to explain and practice.

I would also like to use a tablet to provide explanations while writing on the board in real time.
A tablet is a piece of equipment used for handwriting digitally on images imported into a computer.
It can be used to write on teaching materials as shown below.
The spread of the Coronavirus has been very difficult, but I will do my best to provide my students with a safe and continuous learning environment at home.
Despite the situation, I would like to convey the joy of learning and the importance of knowing and thinking to as many students as possible.
