Hello and welcome!

My name is Sarah Makiyama and I am so happy you are considering me to be your online tutor. I have lived in Japan for 7 years and am married to a Japanese national.

I have a passion for teaching and I can't wait to start helping you grow. My undergraduate degree was in music education and I teach music in person as well. I have taught everything from skiing and snowboarding to music to English and I have a lot of experience teaching in person and online.

My main instruments are French Horn, Trumpet, and Piano. I also love teaching recorder and voice. Let me help you break out of your shell!

If you're a fan of marching band and drum corps, I can help you with auditions and teach you the skills you need to succeed. I was in the Blue Knights, the Boston Crusaders, and the Blue Devils, so I know what it takes to be the best. Try expanding your musical skills by taking a lesson in English!

I speak Japanese, so don't be afraid to take a lesson with me, even if you don't speak English yet. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
