Hi there! My name is Ferlyssa and I'm from the Philippines. I have been teaching English online for more than 5 years now. I have a 120-hour TESOL/TEFL Certificate. I teach students of different ages and levels. I have a degree in Bachelor of Science in Food Technology from the University of the Philippines. I was able to work in food industries for almost 10 years before I became an Online ESL teacher. I also had an experience working in a financial institution as a financial advisor of a life insurance company. 

I came across Online ESL teaching profession when I needed to stay at home to take care of my then 2-year old daughter. I was looking for online jobs since I had some free time and I wanted to continue doing something, career-wise. And I think, all my stars aligned  when a friend of a friend, who happens to own an Online ESL tutoring company, offered a training on this. Years later, I'm still in this industry and loving it more and more each day.


My hobbies include reading novels and talking to different people and exchanging ideas and knowledge. For me, learning new things is always refreshing. I also like surfing the internet in some of my free time. I am patient, fun-loving and a good listener which I think are a plus quality for Online ESL teachers.

I always make sure that in my class students are comfortable and having fun so that they will feel at ease and can express themselves better. I’m also flexible when it comes to my teaching style and approach. I can adjust with every student needs and preferences.
