Hello, I'm Troy.
My goal is to provide you with a professional, personalized, relaxed atmosphere for you to practice speaking English. You may have a hectic schedule. My aim is to provide you with a comfortable space where you can forget about your busy day and just focus on speaking English.
Prior to moving to Japan, I lived in New York City for over twenty years. I worked on Wall Street for over fifteen years for several global financial services companies. I always try to leverage my business experience and maturity to provide you meaningful English language instruction.
I have enthusiastically instructed doctors, lawyers, politicians, athletes, and educators. In each case, I tailored my style to serve their individual goals. Besides grammar, I also help clients with pronunciation, intonation, and speaking rhythm issues. I think they are vital for speaking more natively and for building confidence.
I have been told by many clients that my teaching style is very gentle and that my voice and my pacing is soothing and relaxing. So, don't worry, we'll have fun.
My wife and I have an adorable cat named MoMo. As for myself, I have many interests and hobbies that range from photography, video editing and compositing, playing billiards, mountaineering, motorcycles, golf, American politics, DJ'ing, drawing faces, learning to play piano and drums, video games... even sewing!
I think I relate to people easily because of my openness to experiences.
