Hello! My name is Ahri, and I’m a TESOL-certified English teacher from the United States. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and over five years of experience teaching language and communication skills in both educational and community settings.

I’ve worked as a language tutor in English, Japanese, Spanish, and American Sign Language (ASL), and I’ve also led multilingual youth programs that encourage cultural exchange through language. My teaching style is warm, encouraging, and focused on helping students feel confident when speaking.
I especially enjoy working with beginner and intermediate learners. I take time to understand your goals and create lessons that are supportive, simple, and tailored to your needs. 
For me, language and culure are inseperable - you can't learn one without appreciating the other. I've had the priviledge of going to Japan twice and having the opportunity to be immersed in the culture and language is a gift. I am currently studying Japanese, so I understand how challenging and exciting learning a new language can be. 
My goal is to move to Japan in the Shiga prefecture Spring of 2026! I want to continue to be an English teacher and have the gift of teaching and learning from my students. 
My hobbies include reading, spending time in nature, listening to music, watching anime, practicing yoga, and cooking.
