When learning a language, I believe that above everything, a relaxed mindset and feeling joy are the most important aspects. Let’s chat as if you were talking with a friend!

Hello. My name is Omi. I currently live in Japan.

I love learning various languages—For Japanese, I scored a perfect score on N1 in the JLPT, and for English, last year I received over 950 on TOEIC. I also speak a little German.

For three semesters at a Korean university, I worked as a tutor for Japanese exchange students, teaching Korean and participating in activities to help them experience Korean culture together. My work here was well perceived, and I was even ed as “best tutor.” This is why I believe that I can be a great learning partner to help you learn the Korean language!

I believe that “having fun is the most important thing when learning a language.” When I myself was studying Japanese and English, I found that learning by chatting with native speakers helped me improve faster and was much more enjoyable than just reading books. Although, sometimes I did feel that, “what if I make a mistake in front of a native speaker... I’d be so embarrassed.” That’s exactly why, when you’re learning Korean with me, I want you to speak in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere without feeling that kind of anxiety or pressure.

I’d like to share three strengths that I have as a Korean language learning partner.

First, I’m good at matching my energy level to yours. I think this is a skill I developed while living with friends from many different countries in an international student dormitory. I can chat happily and energetically with someone who’s bright and lively, or have a calm, thoughtful conversation with someone who’s more reserved. If you’re worried that your own energy level is too high or too low, please don’t hesitate to talk to me about it.

Secondly, I can tailor the conversation to topics that are popular with Japanese people. Based on my years of experience interacting with Japanese people of various ages, I have a concrete understanding of which aspects of South Korea interest people in Japan. I believe that the best way to learn a language is to have an enjoyable conversations about topics you are interested in. I can chat not only about Korean dramas, movies, and idols, but also about university life in Korea, military service, and history (I hold a Level 1 Korean History Proficiency Certificate).

Third, I am very punctual and have a strong sense of responsibility. I thoroughly prepare in advance to keep appointments and take responsibility for seeing any entrusted task until it is fully completed. While I value creating a fun, conversational atmosphere, as if you were chatting with a friend, I am also mindful during free-talking lessons to consciously vocabulary and use more natural expressions, step-by-step, to ensure your Korean skills improve steadily.

I’m also often told that I’m a “very kind tutor,” but you’ll have to experience that for yourself!

【About My Lessons】
I offer two main types of lessons.

① Lessons for Beginners
For those learning Korean for the first time, we will both purchase a commercially available textbook and use it to progress through your studies. While reading the textbook, I will carefully explain Korean vocabulary and sentence structure, and I’d also like to share native-like pronunciations with you.

② Free-talking Lesson
For those who already have some proficiency in Korean, I offer lessons focused on casual conversation. You can choose your preferred topics and learn more natural Korean expressions while speaking freely.

These two types of lessons are based on my actual teaching experience from university tutoring programs.

I also plan to conduct all lessons with my video turned on. I recommend that students also turn their videos on during the lesson, but if you’re uncomfortable showing your face, you can have it turned off.

My lesson fees are 800 points for 30 minutes, and 1,600 points for 50 minutes.

I look forward to learning with you!!
