Mark Ash Tutor Profile

Hi there! I’m Mark, originally from Manchester, UK, but I’ve called Japan home for over 20 years. I currently live in the beautiful countryside with my wife and two children.

Having lived here so long, I understand the challenges Japanese learners face. Whether students want to improve their fluency for travel or enjoy a relaxed chat, I’m here to help! In my free time, I’m a huge sports fan (especially football!), and I love playing the guitar and ukulele. I even write my own songs! When I’m not making music, you’ll find me hiking through the Akita hills or lost in a good book.

5 years experience teaching at university level. Topics include EAP (English for Academic Purposes) and general English. Over 20 years of experience working at Eikaiwa. Lessons include conversation, grammar, Kids, travel, business, EIKEN, TOEIC and more!

  • More than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ Cancellation is possible at any time.
  • Less than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
  • No-Show→ The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
