I'm a Korean tutor, Youjin Oh, with over 4 years of teaching experience. A friend of mine recommended Cafetalk to me to teach Korean here. As I started studying Korean teaching as a foreign language, I began to teach Korean to foreigners, and it was such a fulfilling moment. Most of my students are undergrad or graduate students who learn Korean for academic purposes. I also have experience teaching practical Korean to foreigners living in Korea(teachers working at a Korean university or expatriates at Samsung) and students from multicultural backgrounds.
I have been teaching Korean for 7 years at a university in South Korea. I mainly teach Korean to international students studying in Korea, and my lessons are taught in a very relaxed atmosphere. The best way to learn a language is to visit that country and experience its culture and language firsthand, but unfortunately there are many students who cannot afford to study abroad. This is why I would like to provide interesting online Korean lessons for them. I can teach you expressions and phrases that are actually used in Korea these days in an easy-to-understand manner, rather than the outdated expressions found in textbooks.
I have worked as a psychotherapist for children and parents, adolescents, and young adults in their 20s and 30s at a psychiatric hospital and counseling center. I majored in developmental psychology in college and child psychotherapy and counseling psychology in graduate school. I love my job, but I've always wanted to have a side job in which I could work with bright energy and a happy atmosphere. I came to have the idea of becoming a Korean tutor.
