How to Be a Better English Speaker in 2019
Jan 2, 2019
Wishing you all a happy 2019! Hope you all are having a wonderful time with your family and friends during the New Year celebrations.
To help yourself or your child be a better English speaker this year, check out the tips below.
1) Listen to English everyday. (Or almost everyday)
Reading is great. Flashcards are an excellent way to review. However listening to English for a little while everyday will help feel comfortable hearing English and will help you feel more comfortable talking to native speakers. You can listen to an audiobook, a podcast, a TV show, a movie, or even just a song. Even listening for a few minutes can help.
2) Keep an English notebook.
If you don't already have an English notebook or diary, think about starting one this year. Write down new vocabulary, grammar, and anything else related to your English studies. This is also a great place to write down questions you have for your English tutor on Cafetalk!
3). Get speaking practice in regularly.
Regular conversation practice makes a huge difference. There are many great ways to study on your own that are absolutely necessary to be successful. However, nothing can replace conversation. Whether you go to a language exchange, talk with a native English speaking co-worker, or a tutor on Cafetalk, make sure you spend some time speaking English.
