I lived in Japan and New Zealand from 2010 to 2012. I think the hardest thing about it was the holidays, when I missed my family and friends the most but I was lucky enough to meet friends locally and they helped me feel at home. I think the key is to keep yourself surrounded by good people and you'll be all right.
