What is flipped learning?

Jan 31, 2020

I have a lesson called Amazing Australia: Amazing Australians. It uses flipped learning teaching methodology.

1. So what is flipped learning?
It is a method of teaching where you, the student, receive your lesson materials before the class. This means that before the class you do some self-study and then in the class you are prepared to increase your understanding and ask questions.

2. Why is flipped learning good for me as a student?
By preparing before the class it means that you can ask the tutor questions before the class and be well prepared. Then in the class you can maximise the time you spend learning.

3. How does the Amazing Australia: Amazing Australians lesson work?
a. Before the lesson -  I will send you a reading or listening task to complete.
b. In the lesson - we will have a discussion based on the pre-lesson materials.
c. Post lesson - I will give you feedback and follow up tasks based on your needs.

The content for each lesson will be based on one famous Australian. It could be a writer, an historical figure, a leader. You will have the chance to learn more about Australian life and culture through its people while practising your English.

So, are you ready to try a flipped lesson? If you are, please see my profile for details.  Remember I have a special 20% discount coupon for this week for all lessons.

Have a fabulous Friday!
