今日の英検のレッスンの中で出てきた長文問題の一部です。

Is there a Santa Claus?
昔アメリカの8歳の女の子が新聞社に寄せた質問です。
そして、それに対する記者の答えが載っていました。
Nobody sees Santa Claus, but there is no sign that there is no Santa Claus Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world.
Santa Claus, he lives forever. He will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.
(本当はもっと長いのですが、感動した部分だけ抜粋しています）
見えないものを信じる、ということはなんだかワクワクしますね！ふと、受講生の中２の女の子達にDo you believe there is a Santa Claus? と聞いてみると、No.という返事が返ってきました。でもmagicや妖精は信じるというので、何故？と聞いてみました。すると、、、小学６年生になったときに母から「今までクリスマスのプレゼントをしていたのは私」と言われたからだそうです（笑）
皆さんはサンタを信じていますか？
私は50％いると思っていて、50％いないと思っています。変な答えですが。ですが、ファンタジーものは大好きです！,,,ということはやっぱり心の奥では見えないものを信じているのかもしれません。
