English Idioms - ''On The House''

Momo Sensei

Hello Everyone!

Today, i would like to talk about a popular English Idiom phrase, 'On the House'.

On the house means v ( of a drink or meal in a bar or restaurant) at the management's expense; free.

We generally use free, free of charge or at no cost in daily life.

Here are some examples using 'On the house':

* During the meal, chef may send out one or two little taste treats for diners to enjoy on the house.

* We are invited by the hotel to a special, celebratory buffet- on the house

* The bartender brought the couple drinks on the house.

* Is it on the house?

Please give a try using this idiom to expand  your frame of reference. Once you get familiar with a list of common idioms, you will discover that you already know many of them - and getting them on paper will be ''a piece of cake''.
