(The study of two universities made news. The summary is something like this;
"When cats stare at you, it would sometimes mean the expression of hostility. When cats blink slowly, it would sometimes mean the expression of friendliness.” I have experienced exchanging blinks with our "communally owned cat". I was a little happy :) )
