I had to wait!

2020년 12월 5일

Yesterday, was a boring day for me!  As I had to wait in the whole day for a delivery of my new oven.

To wait in, is a phrasal verb which means that you must stay at home and wait for a certain thing to take place.

  •    I must wait in for the telephone call.
  •    I need to wait in for the plumber to arrive.
  •  There’s no need to wait in all day.
  •  Did you have to wait in all day for the delivery of your new furniture?   Unfortunately, yes.

We received an email stating that a delivery would take place within the day, therefore I had no alternative but to wait in for the delivery.

While waiting in, the weather was beautiful, and I was frustrated.  However, after I had waited in for 8 hours the oven finally arrived!

In the words of Bob Marley, I did not have to wait in vain, (hopeless waiting for something that never happens)!
