Fun with English: Blank Comics

A great idea for learning anything is to make studying fun. One way to to make learning a language fun is use blank comic strips. This activity uses popular comics you find in magazines, newspapers or online. The words are removed from the word bubble. Then you write your own conversations into the word bubble.

 

There are two ways you can make blank comic strips. The first method is to take the magazine or newspaper and put white-out over the words. You can then photocopy it as much as you want and write your own conversation in it. If the comic is online, you can put the image in an image editor and paint over the words. You can then print it out as much as you want and write your own conversation in it.

 

Another method is to search online for images people already prepared. A simple search can pull up examples like this:
