Cold Snap in the US

Tracy R.

Hello Everyone!

I think some of you have heard about the extremely cold weather in many parts of the US this past week and a half. I think Texas is most well-known right now for their massive car wreck outside of Dallas due to snow and ice. However, most of the midwest (the central and east central area) and the eastern states are also getting hit with lots of ice, snow and cold. It's been very cold here lately, with the high temperatures getting close to 20 degrees Fahrenheit (around -6.5 degrees Celsius)but most days have been closer to 10 degrees (-12 C). Nights have been around between -5 and up to 4 (-20 to -15 C).This morning though, we got up and saw this!

That's -25 degrees Fahrenheit! (-31.6 degrees Celsius.) I hope that the thermometer's broken and that's not accurate...

However, through all of this, we've had lots of snow. I really love snow, so I think everything looks so beautiful right now. Unfortunately it's too cold to go out and take a walk through the pretty snow! I guess I'll just have to enjoy the view from inside.

After two weeks of this though, it will finally end this coming Friday. I'm sure lots of people will be relieved when the temperatures return to something more normal.

Have a great day~
