How are you? I hear it is scorching hot weather in Japan now. I'm sure the humidity makes it extra uncomfortable. It's about a little over or under 30 degrees celsius in Canada where I live. However, I keep the air conditioner on most of the time. I'm sure it's a necessity in Japan. I hope you are careful to stay out of the hot sun and drink lots of water! Stay safe!

[Today's Topic:]

I found this great show on Netflix called "Extraordinary Attorney Woo!" It's a Korean drama about an autistic young lady who has an encyclopedic knowledge of the law. Attorney Woo is the prototypical idiot-savant (for a lack of better words). As a child, Ms. Woo only had an interest in the law and read entire thick law books from cover to cover. As a result, she has exceptional knowledge of the law which she memorized.

The way the disability manifests itself in the young lady is fascinating to watch indeed. Attorney Woo's odd and quirky behavior is somehow charming and sweet--as if she is a little child. At the same time, she has a laser-like focus on topics she's interested in. She can talk for hours about sperm whales which are her favorite in real life as well as in her imagination. In addition, whenever she solves a problem or has inspiration, she has a vision of a sperm whale breaching the water.

Although she has trouble accomplishing the mundane things in everyday life, she is a brilliant trial attorney in court. Ms. Woo is on the autism spectrum, but she is high-functioning and works in a law firm. I'm sure her autism allows her to solve crimes and other perplexing puzzles. 

This drama is nothing short of charming as the young lady navigates through life and work in her own unique and whimsical way. You can't help but fall in love with her. I hope you have a chance to catch this very unique show about an attorney and a young woman who is afflicted with the autism spectrum disorder. Enjoy!
