Childhood games

Weekly Topic: A game you used to like playing when you were a kid.

Tutor Mercy

There were a number of games that I enjoyed playing as a child. Some of them are 'Mud or Stone', Catch game, Hopping and so on. But my favorite game is one that we would call 'Sarabi'. A person is chosen at random to chase the other members of the game; running after them one at a time. When the participant is tired, they get to call the names of other people in the game and that person will then be chased. When one is too tired of chasing one member after another, he/she can choose to sit down, place their hand on their head and say the word "sarabi". All the other members would follow and place their hands over the person's head. The last to do so will then be the one to chase the others in the following game. This was so much fun because it was convenient for both of them; the one chasing and the one being chased. This game, for the most part, ended with a huge belly laugh from all the members of the game.
