Hey guys!
最近、久しぶりに日本語の本を読み終えましたので、I thought I'd write down my thoughts about it while they are still fresh.
又吉直樹 「火花」
"Hibana" by Naoki Matayoshi
This book received much attention because 1) it won an 芥川賞 and 2)it was written by a famous comedian!!
Okay, so I have SO many thoughts that if I write them all down, this will be one heck of a long column. So I'm gonna keep it as short and simple as possible.
In a nutshell, it's about the relationship between two aspiring comedians, Tokunaga and Kamiya. Kamiya is Tokunaga's 先輩 and Tokunaga really looks up to him because he feels that he's a comedic genius.
Reading it, I felt a myriad of emotions ("myriad of"=たくさんのという意味).
It made me laugh really hard. It broke my heart. It made me feel lonely. It scared me. It moved me so much that I almost cried.
又吉さんは、人間の心理描写がとても上手だと思いました。「お笑い」という自分とはかけ離れた世界の人々の物語なので、分かりづらかったり共感しづらい部分が多いのかな、と読む前に多少心配していましたが、全然そんなことはありませんでした。
主人公が感じた孤独、不安、悔しさ、恐怖などの様々な感情が、全部自分が今まで抱いたことがあるものだったり、今現在抱えているものだったりして、すごく共感できました。
勝手な考えですが、この本がここまで支持されたのは、私みたいに共感できる人が多かったからではないかと思います。
文字でここまで人を動かせる又吉さんは天才だと思いました！又吉さんって、芸人としても小説家としても成功しててすごいですね！
とにかくおすすめな作品なので、まだ読んでいない人は是非読んでみてください＾＾特に人間の心理描写みたいなのが好きな人は楽しめるかと思います。
ドラマ化もするそうなので、とても楽しみ！！
Let's hope the TV series is good, and that it does not lose the magic of the original book :)
