English Games for Kids! I spy…

Savannah W

What English games can you play with your kids? How about “I spy”? It’s good for vocabulary!

How do you play? You can use anything! A picture, the living room, the park, the zoo…anything is okay!

Let’s look at the steps:

  1. Choose any object, but don’t say it!

  2. Give hints to the other players. Say “I spy something…”

    1. For example: an elephant! Say “I spy something big and grey! It has big ears!”

  3. Other players try to guess!

    1. “Is it a rhino?” “No, it has a long nose!” “Is it an elephant?” “Yes!”

  4. Then, the next player goes!

This game is good for vocabulary. You can learn many adjectives and words in context. It helps kids memorize words.

It also builds conversation skills. If you don’t know the word, you can practice describing it. Then, the teacher can give the correct word.

Why don’t you try it? Here's a picture!
