It was May when my husband and I visited friend's family who had immigrated in Brazil. It's spring in Japan, but it's the beginning of winter over there, and even though it's a hot country, the coldness of the floor made me realize it was autumn. After enjoying Rio de Janeiro, Iguazu Falls, and other tourist attractions, the mountain pass from São Paulo to Santos was foggy and looked like a Japanese ink painting [Suibokuga] I thought, ``Is this Brazil? It's like Japan.''I felt nostalgic from that. After playing at Santos Beach, I took a lick of the Atlantic Ocean water."Hmm, it's not salty. It's different from the seawater of the Pacific Ocean!" That's what it tasted like.Together with the color of the sand on Santos Beach, it became an unforgettable memory of my first overseas trip.
