Idioms using body parts

Thirzah

It is often difficult to understand Idioms and to use them correctly. Idioms are a great way to communicate and can help you to sound more native.

It is important that you have an advanced or upper intermediate level of English before trying to learn idioms. For these idioms, you will need to remember a lot of body parts so maybe request a vocabulary lesson first.

Can you guess the meaning of these idioms and match them to the pictures?

As a British person, I often cross my fingers to bring good luck to my friends or myself. I consider myself to be both lucky and brave so I don't get cold feet easily.

How about you? Do you cross your fingers or get cold feet?

Here are two more for you to try.

My heart is in teaching and I would be happy for you to pick my brains in a lesson very soon.

I use high-quality materials to teach my students and to help them practice and remember as much as possible.
Try these but don't cheat as the answers are coming up next.

I have my fingers crossed that you got these right and didn't get cold feet and cheat.

Maybe these went over your head but please don't give me the cold shoulder.

If you would like help with idioms like these or simply need to understand a native English person better book a consultation with me.
