What I'm looking forward to this spring

Weekly Topic: What do you look forward to this spring?

One of the things that I was really looking forward to was watching Dune: Part 2, and I checked that one off my list yesterday! I wish I had seen Part 1 at a theater as well because those movies are really epic on the big screen. If you’re a fan of sci-fi films, I definitely recommend checking them out. It seems like there may even be a third movie in this series, but we’ll just have to wait and see! And as far as movies go, the next one I’m looking forward to is Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, which I’m planning to see in Japan when I visit in April.

Visiting Japan is another big thing that I’m looking forward to, and I’ll be spending three weeks traveling around the country and seeing places like Lake Biwa, Himeji Castle, and even Yakushima this time! Of course, this means that I’ll be away from Cafetalk for a while, but I’ll return to my regular schedule in the final week of April (with lots of pictures and stories to share!).

Hopefully, by the time I get back from Japan, spring will be starting here in Canada, and it will be a good time to get out and walk around some of the green spaces like High Park or the Brick Works. I always look forward to the smell of lilacs in the spring. Even though they don’t bloom for long, they have a wonderful scent that reminds me of my childhood (growing up on a farm with many purple and white lilac trees).

Finally, I’m also looking forward to my 40th birthday in June! I think it’s a special one, so I’d like to do something a little different to celebrate this year, but I’m not sure what just yet. People used to say that someone was “over the hill” after 40, but I don’t feel old at all. Maybe the “midlife crisis” happens a bit later these days haha!
