Montag, 15. April 2024, 19:00 | 2 Comments

Hello, Cafetalk students and tutors!

We have reached the middle of April, and I wrote a simple poem to share. I hope it is a nice little read for you, and please remember to smile today!

I am on a professional development break at this time, but I invite you to come and have a discussion with me if you are curious about poetry when I return next week. Thank you!

[Spring Showers & Garden Flowers]

(Click the title for an audio recording!)

The morning awoke with the sound of gentle spring showers--
A pitter-patter that tapped against my bedroom window;
I imagined the lovely dew upon my garden's petals and flowers,
As my body was wrapped warm and my head atop a pillow.

The midst of April, a month seemingly going by
With the quickness of an agile cat,
The resounding notes of a blessed melody,
And the flittering flutter of a colored wing.

How joyous it has been to live life with such thoughts--
To open one's eyes and gaze upon the beauty outside
Of the reddest of Roses and the bluest Forget-Me-Nots,
What adventures the day holds, all for me to decide.

The calming raindrops that visited this morn
Have been replaced by a softly shining sun,
And with a big stretch and a contented sigh,
I look forward to what this day will bring.
