1. Trees are the Earth's longest-living organisms and never succumb to old age. California boasts the oldest living trees, with some bristlecone pines and giant sequoias reaching an astonishing age of 4,000-5,000 years. Among them, Methuselah, an ancient Bristlecone Pine estimated to be around 4,852 years old, stands as one of the oldest living trees globally.

2. Tree rings possess the remarkable ability to provide insights into climate change. The study of tree rings, known as Dendrochronology, not only reveals a tree's age but also indicates natural disasters like volcanic eruptions or drought events. Thick rings indicate years of abundant resources and healthy growth, while thin rings signify scarcity in the ecosystem.

4. Believe it or not, some trees have journeyed to the moon. During the Apollo 14 mission in early 1971, seeds were taken to the moon. These seeds, known as "Moon trees," were then brought back to Earth to examine if the moon's orbit had any impact on their growth. In 1975 and 1976, NASA and the US Forest Service donated these unique trees to state forestry services.
