South Africa is not only rich in culture and diversity, but we also know how to satisfy a sweet tooth! Here are a few of our most beloved local candies and sweets that bring back my childhood memories and still make me smile today:

Beacon Fizzers – A chewy, fizzy candy bar that comes in fruity flavours like grape, cream soda, and strawberry. Every South African kid has unwrapped a Fizzer at least once — or ten times a week!

Chomp – This chocolate bar is small but mighty! With layers of caramel and wafer covered in milk chocolate, it’s a lunchbox favourite.

Wilson’s Toffees – Hard, chewy, and full of flavor! These old-school toffees come in classic flavours like banana, grape, and original. Your jaw gets a workout, but it’s worth it!

Peppermint Crisp – A green minty centre wrapped in milk chocolate. This one’s so iconic, we even use it in desserts like Peppermint Crisp Tart.
